Do you think that's true?
As long you live in your "comfort zone" there is no need to change anything - and so you stand still, in a way. I wouldn't go that far that you are dead, but you are kind of "comfortably numb".
But once your life changes dramatically and you are forced to leave your comfort zone, you develop energies that you had seldom been aware of. These forces are INSIDE yourself - they are always there. They just need to get awakened. And very often I think we need some dramatical event to trigger this switch inside us ... and release the energies in ourselves ...

Suffering may only appear in the way I perceive. In fearing that I will suffer, I will suffer. It seems that we often need to hit bottom before we are able to grow up.
